Charging Your Crystals: The Best Methods for Powerful Results

Cleansing your crystals clears away unwanted energy — but charging your crystals fills them back up with fresh, vibrant energy so they can work at their best.

When you charge a crystal, you’re topping up its natural vibration, aligning it with your intention, and giving it the energy it needs to support you.

When to Charge Your Crystals

You can charge a crystal anytime, but it’s especially helpful:

  • After cleansing it
  • Before using it in a ritual or healing session
  • When setting a new intention
  • After it’s been used often and feels “flat”

How to Charge Crystals

1. Moonlight Charging

Place your crystals under the moonlight overnight, especially during a full moon. This is one of the most popular crystal charging methods because it’s gentle and works for all stones.

2. Sunlight Charging

Leave your crystals in sunlight for a few hours to fill them with warmth and vitality.

⚠️ Avoid sunlight for stones that fade easily, like amethyst, rose quartz, and fluorite.

3. Crystal Clusters & Selenite Plates

Place your crystal on a larger charging crystal like amethyst or quartz clusters, or on a selenite charging plate. Selenite is self-cleansing and constantly radiates high-vibration energy.

4. Earth Charging

Bury your crystal in soil for 24 hours to let it reconnect with natural energy from the Earth. This is great for grounding stones like hematite, black tourmaline, and jasper.

5. Intention & Meditation

Hold your crystal in both hands, close your eyes, and focus on the intention you want it to hold. Visualise light flowing into the stone until it feels “full.” This method works anywhere, anytime.

Crystals That Benefit Most from Regular Charging

While all crystals can be charged, stones used often for healing, protection, or emotional support will benefit from regular energy top-ups.

My Charging Tip

If you’re short on time, keep a selenite bowl or plate on your altar or bedside table. Place your crystals there overnight so they’re cleansed and charged while you sleep.
